1.If you were famous what would your stage name be?
Wearing sunscreen every day! When I was younger, I was a competitive swimmer. I spent hours in the summer sun, often skipping the sunscreen because I thought it was no big deal. I thought the darker the tan, the better. Unfortunately, sun damage is irreversible and skin cancer is a definite risk for me. I now see a dermatologist every 6 months and embrace my pale skin, all while wearing moisturizer that contains sunscreen daily!
2.If you would attend a celebrity wedding which, would it be?
As an educator, I have spent 20 years in classrooms ranging from elementary level through high school. With children spending more hours each day interacting with technology and social media, there has been a shift in how children learn. Because they are used to immediate answers from Google and Alexa, they have less interest and patience with the process it takes to arrive at answers. Creativity and imagination are becoming more foreign among our youth.
3.What is the weirdest gift you’ve ever received?
What I love most about traveling is how it forces me to change my daily routine. Sometimes, we become such creatures of habit that it prevents us from enjoying simple pleasures or appreciating the scenery around us. Traveling forces us to leave our comfort zones and adapt to new situations. This is when we feel most alive! No matter where I might visit, I am reminded of the treasures I have in my own backyard.
4.What is the most random fact you know?
I love being 45! It is an age that for me, has brought everything into perspective. I feel young enough to connect with the current trends in music and fashion, and yet wise enough to respect and honor important events that have helped shaped our current society. I have lived through some iconic decades. I am also proud of my 21-year marriage and two beautiful daughters that have made my life complete!
